My research focus is on nineteenth century literature in France and Quebec. I just recently conferred my dissertation entitled:

“North Atlantic Monstrosity: Technology and the Cultural Embodiment of Nostalgia and Progress in Nineteenth-Century French and Québécois Literature”

Some of my research interests include: monsters and monster theory, vampires, werewolves, zombies, French decadence, folklore and fairy-tales, French and francophone theater, gender studies,  and disability studies.

I am also interested in developing short-term instructor led study abroad courses. At SUNY Fredonia, I have developed a short-term study abroad course entitled: Monsters and Freaks in Paris. This course took place in Paris, where students were able to study culture, literature, and language. At Weber State University, I currently run a summer program, French Cuisine & Viticulture, where students have the opportunity to visit Bordeaux and Paris.
